Ice Storm

Over the last 24 hours, we have had rain turn to sleet turn to ice.

Ice is hanging off pine needles, Ice is everywhere.

and from the smallest of tree branches.

Long icicles hang from the roof.

When I drove into the driveway yesterday afternoon, I felt like I was in a winter wonderland.

Everything was covered in a layer of glassy white.

I was amazed how the ice is hanging from the pine needles.

And hanging from the wire fence.

I love all the close up pictures of the ice Mom! Jake was shocked ...he has never seen ice like that. Stay warm today!

Oh, those pictures are pretty, but they bring back bad memories. We had a big ice storm here a few years ago. We were without power for 14 days. I hope you have a nice warm Christmas.

We are a mess here. After the ice, came 9-12" of snow, and blowing wind, so we have very big drifts. Worse storm in years! Early this morning, Saturday, about 1 am, we lost electric. Electric crews are at our corner. They just came to our door and said we may be out for 12 more hours. Time to get a fire going!
