Caden’s 1st Birthday Party

Caden turned 1 on Saturday, December 26th.

Caden’s birthday party was scheduled for the day after his birthday, on the 27th, giving time to relax after Christmas. After 3 days of ice, sleet and snow before and during Christmas day, his party had to be postpone until the following Tuesday. A layer of 12” of slippery snow was everywhere, with drifts much higher. We were just not going anywhere.

But Caden and Amber had head colds, and Caden ran a slight fever for a few days. His party was postponed until day. He was feeling better. After 5 days on antibiotics for bronchitis, I was feeling better. But I was coughing terribly. Even though I thought I wasn’t contagious, I didn’t want to spread anything around. And, since my resistance is lowered, I didn’t want to pick up another cold or flu bug.

The house was decorated for the party!

Tom took the camera and took a lot of pictures. I felt like I was there! Happy Birthday, Caden! Grandma is sorry she missed your party. I know it was a lot of fun!

Caden's fire truck birthday cake,

and the cake for everyone else!

Beginning to open his gifts with Mommy and Daddy,

and with his cousins.

Presents, birthday cards, paper,

and toys.

A riding toy,

and walking with his new riding toy.

Clothes, a zoo animal sleeper, and

a big boy oufit.

You look like you were having fun!

And finally, getting ready for the cake! Caden is in the high chair,

waiting for the singing or your birthday song,

"Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday Dear Caden, Happy Birthday to you!"

and then the cake!

Happy Birthday, Caden, with all of Pop’s pictures that he took, I feel like I was there with you! I’ll see you soon! Grandma

What a beautiful baby. Now I'm not one to say a baby is beautiful, but that baby could be a baby model. What a smile, and those eyes. I'm going to faint. lol.
I hope you feel better,
sfg

Oh what a cutie!! Look at those eyes! And it looks like he sure knew what to do with that birthday cake! My niece didn't know what to do with her first birthday cake, she ended up just kind of scraping off most of the frosting, lol!!!

sfg, thanks so much. He is a pretty baby though, and I just love his cheeks. He is starting to look a lot like his daddy, (my oldest son) did at that age. I can't wait to get him on a horse this summer!
I do feel better, thanks for asking! 5 days of meds does wonder. Monday night and Tues morning were my worse days. By Thur night, I was bored. Some energy has come back! Im still coughing first thing in the morning, and in the evenings. People tell me that could last for weeks! yuck. well, I guess if I had to get sick, I'm glad it's now when I'm inside and not in March or April when I want to be riding!

Rebekah, that boy loves to eat! lol I think his mom took some of the cake away, because he started to cry! lol
His blue eyes come from his great-grandpa, my dad. My dad's eyes just shine. I have bright blue eyes and so does my son. Good, strong trait!

Caden had such a good time at his party! He was so excited with everyone being there, he was going everywhere and watching everyone! He liked playing with the wrapping paper more that opening the actual gifts. =) But the Cake was the best part. He dove right in! We took a video of him eating it, so we can bring that over the next time we see you!
