The Past 2 Years

Finny
May 26, 2001 - Oct 10, 2009

You're always in my heart, you're always in my thoughts.
I've missed you for 2 years now.
Thank you God, for giving me the time I needed to heal my broken heart.

I've come to understand the whys.
I've come to replace the grieve with acceptance.
I've replaced sadness with memories.

I will always miss you.
It's hard to believe that you had to be taken from me to teach me how much I loved you.
There was never any doubt.

When you understand that life is a test, you realize that nothing is insignificant in your life. Even the smallest incident has significance for your character development. Every day is an important day, and every second is a growth opportunity to deepen your character, to demonstrate love, or to depend on God. The good news is that God wants you to pass the tests of life, so he never allows them to be greater than the grace he gives you to handle them (1 Corinthians 10:13).” – Rick Warren

God Knows Best

Can I remember my thoughts of last night,
As I laid my head on the pillow
And thought about you.

Can I remember my thoughts of today,
When I rode the fields on a different horse,
Without you.

I miss you,
I always will,
But God knows best.

You’re in my thoughts always,
I wished I knew now,
What I should have known then.

As I ride another horse,
I remember what you have taught me,
And I always remember how you moved.

I raised you, yet you were taken from me,
I gave you the time you needed to mature,
Yet our time together was short.

I always remember your youth,
I always remember your lightness,
I always remember your time with me.

You're always in my heart,
You're always on my mind,
I’ll always remember you.

Keith Urban's Song:

"Only You Can Love Me This Way"
Well I know there's a reason
And I know there's a rhyme
We were meant to be together
That's why----
We can roll with the punches
We can stroll hand in hand
And when I say it's forever
You understand---

That you're always in my heart,
You're always on my mind
But when it all becomes too much,
You're never far behind
And there's no one that comes close to you
Could ever take your place
Cause only you can love me this way

I could have turned a different corner
I could have gone another place
Then I'd of never had this feeling
That I feel today, yeah..

And you're always in my heart,
Always on my mind
When it all becomes too much,
You're never far behind
And there's no one that comes close to you
Could ever take your place
Cause only you can love me this way.

And you're always in my heart,
You're always on my mind
And when it all becomes too much,
you're never far behind
And there's no one that comes close to you
Could ever take your place
Cause only you can love me this way

Only you can love me this way.

Deanna, thanks. most of the time, I just write, but I find when I do write from the heart, it is very meaningful for me. I'm glad others think so too, and that it helps them through their times of sadness too.

GP, thanks. I'll always be sad. But I do feel better now. Yes, Finny was an awesome horse, and a beautiful black, and I still don't know why he had to be the one to die. He was awesome to ride, a gentle horse, loved people, and would have been a great lesson horse to teach others to ride. I will always picture us riding over the open fields. I'm sorry he couldn't have lived longer. That is what makes me really sad. That he had to die.

The more we love them, the more it hurts when we lose them, whether it's people or animals. It's the price we pay for having something so wonderful. But it's worth the sadness to have a love like that.
